X11-Basic
X11-Basic is a Basic with graphic capability. The syntax is most similar to the old GFA-Basic ATARI-ST
implementation. Old GFA-Basic programs should run with only few changes. X11-Basic runs on UNIX workstations (DEC-alpha,
HP-UX, FreeBSD, Mac-OSX, CygWin) and Linux-PCs (Ubuntu, SuSE, Rethat, Mandrake, Debian, Puppy-Linux, DSL linux, ...) with the X Window
system.
There is also a MS WINDOWS-Version. Also an ARM-Linux version is available. This version also runs on
Handheld devices and Palmtops like the TomTom Car Navigation systems. (see http://www.opentom.org/X11-Basic)
You can use the X11-Basic interpreter as a shell. Also for execution of CGI-Scripts. A pseudo compiler is shipped with the interpreter
so that you can make stand-alone binaries out of your programs. You can do any data manipulation and you may use external functions and
libraries. At least the X11-Basic interpreter is fast and small.
